Yazd

Early in the morning, our bus is reaching, Yazd. A mud city. Centre of Zoroastrian culture, in Iran. Having a history (according to Wikipedia) of about 3000 years. Life still functions here. We are going straight to Silk Road Hotel. After breakfast we are walking (for hours) around the old city. After lunch, on a hot sunny day, we are waiting for the Zoroastrian temple to open. The guard is surprised to see us waiting. The fire here is burning since 470 A.D. Inside the temple we are watching the fire and reading the words of Zoroastrian masters. At another ancient Zoroastrian site – we are only two of us. Here it seems like we are in the middle of nowhere. Yet outside the site, a city exists. Its evening and we are on our way to the hotel. Our taxi driver is an Olympic judo champion! He is letting us decide the fare. We are witnessing miracles in situations, coincidences and silence. Its Yazdi magic!

  2. I agree, very good photographs. You guide us through a culture and a huan dimension that most of us know way too little about.
